Tame Impala – Two New Singles

Hard to believe that Tame Impala‘s last album release was four years ago because Lonerism still plays often in my library. The Australian neo-psychedelic group have been working on their Junior album since 2014, and just released the first booming single “Let It Happen” for free download, March 11th. Listen to it below, and check out the free download from Pitchfork here. The 8 minute track is an engagingly mellow voyage of flowing instruments and somber vocals. It actually hasn’t been disclosed that this single will be on the new album or not. Luckily, just four days ago, they released the official first single for the album, called “‘Cause I’m a Man.”

The new album Currents is set for release sometime this year, hopefully this summer.

Front man Kevin Parker told Triple J radio some predictions for the new album in May 2014, and true to his word, the new singles sound more electronic, and more minimal, but keep that deep, heavy sound that Tame Impala is known for. Also just announced was their extensive US tour, see the dates and places here.
