Busy Living premiere new single Leaving

About Busy Living

Crafting artful, arena sized indie-pop set against the beat of a post-punk backdrop, LA’s Busy Living are back with new singles produced by Spoon’s Jim Eno that take cues from the likes of Weezer and The Pixies, creating a seamless fusion of futuristic dance elements with pop-centric rock. Their songs are cinematic, landing them several syncs on popular television shows including NCIS, Hawaii 5-0, and Beauty and The Beast.

Comprised of Mike Moonves (lead vocals, guitar), Tim Hutton (bass, vocals), and Matt Leddy (keys, vocals), the Los Angeles based three-piece return with a staggering collection of indie-pop, set to be released later in 2014. Originally a member of indie-rock band, Chief, Moonves and his band mates have cultivated a strong stage presence over the years. As part of Chief, Moonves has played with some reputable names, including Haim, Grouplove and Papa, not to mention multiple US and European tours and a Glastonbury appearance. Additionally, Hutton has played bass with huge acts like Eulogies and The Temptations, and Leddy’s previous band opened for MGMT, Andrew WK and TV on the Radio. Busy Living were recently hand picked to tour with Communion, a multi-city showcase founded by Mumford & Son’s Ben Lovett.

Following the release of their EP “It’s A War Out There” in late 2012, the return couldn’t come soon enough. Their first single, “Let You Down”, is a heartfelt narrative about unrequited love. Particularly, the pain of having someone fall in love with you and not feeling the same way. The second single, “Leaving” could easily be a Flaming Lips B-Side, and though it paints a picture of a crumbling relationship, the synth-laden groove could provide the soundtrack to a road trip montage.

Effortlessly fun and resonant, the new Busy Living singles will put them at the forefront of dance-ready indie rock.
