The first time I saw SEVENDUST was at an OZZFEST in West Palm Beach, Florida in 1998. It was my first
“metal” experience. Sevendust was the first band I have ever had a “meet and Greet”. We stood in line
and I had a random metal magazine in my hand; Clint signed it and Lajon shook my hand. All I could
think of was that they were so nice. I saw their set and went to the store the very next day and bought
their self-titled CD “Sevendust”. I played it so much that I killed it; I had to buy another copy. I love their music.
Being used to a heavy and hard and seriously emotional band, this tour’s softer acoustic side of them
was fresh and different; they keep their fans reeled in. The evolution of their sound just keeps getting
better and better. The set was so amazing I was sucked in to a point where I forgot what I was doing
and had to concentrate on my photo shoot. Every song was strong and engaging. Their new album
“TIME TRAVELERS & BONFIRES” had songs that touched my soul. The 2 songs that I can’t stop listening
to are Under It All and The Wait. Everyone in the audience sang along as one voice. There were a few
times when Lajon and the band became very emotional over the lost loved ones and friends. I
stopped to wipe my eyes, as many people did. This band is a bunch of REAL down home, talented and
incredible musicians. By the way, Lajon talking to his Mom in the middle of the set, well it made me
just love these guys all over again. The entire set was remarkable, but my favorite stand out songs
were; Angel’s Son, Denial, Karma, and Black. If you haven’t purchased their last album, do it!
