New Smallpools Single – Karaoke

Just before Thanksgiving, Smallpools released a brand new single “Karaoke.” The Californian four-piece indie group has been active less than three years but they’ve already found success with their constantly growing fan base and publicity all over indie pop stations. The new single contains all the normal Smallpools sounds; piercing vocals, fast paced beats and catchy guitar riffs.

Their previous single “Killer Whales”, although not necessarily a bad song, was very disappointing compared to their first EP and I feared that the band was becoming predictable. The more crafted writing in combination with their catchy sound reminds one of Foster The People.

Smallpools’ debut album LOVETAP! is expected February 3rd and as long as they keep up to par with this track, the album should be great.

After having had the pleasure of seeing them live in 2013, I can say that they put on a great show and are real friendly guys, so be sure to check them out if they’re near you!
