On January 27 2015 mod y vi records will release singer-songwriter Nathaniel Rateliff’s new EP Closer as a follow up to his critically acclaimed album Falling Faster Than You Can Run. All preorders will include an instant download of the song “Easy.”
To celebrate the release Rateliff will tour alongside Gregory Alan Isakov in January, see below for full routing. Tickets will go on sale November 21.
Additionally, Rateliff’s Denver-based project Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats will release an album produced by acclaimed musician/producer Richard Swift (The Black Keys, The Shins, Foxygen) later in 2015 on Concord Records. Further details and touring plans to be announced soon.
Rateliff’s musical family and upbringing in a rural Missouri church laid the foundation for his soulful, folk-laced sound. Though he considers himself “a poor boy from Missouri,” Rateliff relocated to his current home, Denver, at the age of 19. His 2010 album, In Memory of Loss, propelled him to the forefront of Denver’s tight-knit folk scene, and The New York Times dubbed him “a local folk pop hero.” Rateliff has toured extensively throughout the U.S. and abroad alongside acts such as Mumford & Sons, Deer Tick and The Lumineers.
