New ‘Magic EP’ from Paperwhite

Dream-pop sibling duo Paperwhite just released their debut EP titled Magic. Brooklyn based brother and sister power team Katie and Ben Marshall work wonderfully together to create this six-track feature. The duo shows off a synth driven sound with hints of 80s inspiration, similar to that of Chvrches. Katie’s feathery vocals seem a lot like those of Haim, especially in the third single, “Magic”, but overall Katie’s silky vocals are unique to Paperwhite. Even with the strong beats crafted by Ben, the EP is light and soothing thanks to the addition of delicate treble rhythms and lullaby-like vocals.

They’re just getting started but the duo has already been making an impact on the online music scene with their hypnotic sound, and the two will hopefully continue to succeed.
