Following the Top 10 Alternative and Active Rock success of first single “I Don’t Want to Be Here Anymore,” Rise Against’s second single “Tragedy + Time” “pits emotional loneliness against one of the band’s most catchy, anthemic choruses” (Alternative Press), telling of the journey from a bad place to a good place, from the dark to the light. The video for “Tragedy + Time” plays with this concept of light in an emotional context. From the band’’s performance, to the glimpses of the girl from the cover of THE BLACK MARKET, the video travels from the shadows to somewhere brighter. The “Tragedy + Time” video was directed by Wes Kandel & Casey Hupke.
