Bayside and Say Anything Cover Each Other’s Songs Ahead of Co-headlining Tour

Bayside and Say Anything have teamed up for a special musical collaboration, ahead of their US co-headline tour (launches April 17), with the band’s covering one another’s songs.

Bayside’s Anthony Raneri re-imagines Say Anything’s “Night Songs,” which can be heard at facebook.com/bayside and Say Anything’s Max Bemis’ tackles Bayside’s “They’re Not Horses, They’re Unicorns,” which can be found at facebook.com/sayanything. The songs are also available via Spotify (bit.ly/nightssong) and Apple Music (bit.ly/nightssongb). A limited edition split 7-inch is available exclusively on the upcoming tour.

“Say Anything and us decided to tour together, mainly because we love each other’s bands,” said Raneri. “Naturally, we jumped at the chance to cover each other’s songs. You can stream or purchase digitally right now or pick up a limited 7″ on the tour next month.”

Vacancy was produced by Tim O’Heir (Sebadoh, Hedwig And The Angry Inch) and recorded during Raneri’s time at a Nashville hotel following the dissolution of his marriage. “I wanted this record to be more about what’s happening to me as opposed to having it be all about a disintegrating relationship,” explained Raneri when discussing the themes behind the 11-song release. Alternative Press said of the album, “the band have fully embraced their theatrical side, creating rock music worthy of filling any arena”, while Magnet described Vacancy as “hook-heavy” and “giant-riffed.” Get it on iTunes.
