Boat Race Weekend Release Music Video for “Broken Teeth”

Spokane-based emo trio Boat Race Weekend recently released their new EP Throw Your Head to the World! on 10/14. Here’s a new music video for the record’s first single “Broken Teeth”. “Promise me, darling, that you won’t be afraid to smile despite a mouthful of broken teeth” vocalist Evan Kruschke sings on the encouraging track that reminds you to be positive when life gets you down. The video was directed and produced by Dawson Scholz of The Ongoing Concept who also produced the new EP.

I’ve always loved seeing classical forms of dancing in music videos,” says drummer Jay Orth. “A few years back, I saw a video for Godwolf’s “Alone” and I thought it was just the coolest video. Later, Gaslight Anthem came out with a great video with dancing all throughout it. I saw how more traditional dancing was being incorporated into genres like EDM and rock and always wanted to do a video where we included it. I just thought of it as a really cool art project- dancing, music, and video.

Additionally, bassist Collin Price said he always wanted to wear a tutu in a music video and thought this was a “good compromise.”

I was concerned that if we had Collin in a tu-tu, it would give our female viewers heart problems,” says Kruschke.
