Floridian alternative pop-punk band New Found Glory recently released their eighth album, Resurrection. This album really came as a shock to many, as the band has been dealing with difficult situation involving ex-member Steven Klein. Nonetheless, forever fans welcome the new music with open arms since it’s been been 3 years since they have released a studio album.

During their stop in Austin, TX, New Found Glory made a goal to enrapture the audience from the start. Catching everyone’s attention with a short intro video featuring The Battle Hymn of the Republic, they quickly had the entire venue moving afterwards.

Later in the night, Chad Gilbert shared a short story about stopping at a local shop to purchase a couple of copies of their new album and upon check-out the clerk said, “New Found Glory, I used to love them back in high school.” He felt nostalgic and quickly said “Me too!” and then let her know he was the guitarist in the band.

NFG brought back the hardcore part of punk that was dead asleep and awoke the teenager in everyone. Staying true to their fast-paced beats, shout-along lyrics and combined vocals, they energized the crowd and reclaimed their authority in the punk genre.

The years may have gone by, but these guys still have the talent to put on an amazing show. With a non-stop jumping performance, a half naked bassist and their life experience lyrics, New Found Glory most definitely still deserves to be labeled as the “godfathers of punk”.
