Here come The Griswolds with their new single, Beware The Dog and it’s another heart stealing anthem, sun-soaked with the trademark harmonies that have been getting fans and media in a sweat from Sydney to New York and now London.
It will finally be released in the UK on September 15th.
The buzz around Beware The Dog started in the US when The Griswolds international record label Wind-up Records in New York premiered the track on Music Ninja. Music fans soon drove the song to #5 on the new Billboard Trending 140 Chart. A #5 ranking on Hype Machine quickly followed and Billboard recently anointed The Griswolds with a coveted ‘Tomorrows Hits’ listing when Beware the Dog appeared in the Top 40 Alternative Songs Chart. Beware the Dog has also done well for the band in their homeland of Australia where it has charted in the indie Top 10 over four consecutive weeks. The single is the first cut to be lifted from Be Impressive, The Griswolds’ Tony Hoffer (M83, Fitz and the Tantrums) produced debut album and it’s one that comes straight from the heart for The Griswold’s Vocalist Chris Whitehall and Guitarist, Daniel Duque-Perez. “This is the first song Daniel and I ever wrote together…’ explains Whitehall. ‘It’s about losing someone we were really close with to heavy drug use. Beware the Dog is about that journey – the good times and the bad.’ Beware The Dog impacts in the UK on September 15 along with Be Impressive.
Radio and Streaming: Beware The Dog has been the number one played track at US national station Sirius Alt Nation, and in high rotation in Los Angeles (KROQ), San Francisco (Live105) and Las Vegas (KXTE) along with numerous other stations. The Griswolds were selected to be a Spotify Emerge artist (Previous Winners incl. Bastille, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis) in the US where the band are in the Top 40 on the Spotify Viral Charts and are closing in on one million streams for Beware The Dog. Just in time for the UK long-weekend, The Griswolds will debut the video for Beware The Dog on Friday 1 August in partnership with Vevo.
Beware The Dog prepares the way for UK gigs currently being scheduled for the end of this year when The Griswolds will finally have the opportunity to bring their wild and acclaimed live show to the UK.
